Women's FitCamp New Forest - FAQ


Is it for me? Am I too unfit/ Too overweight?

Fitness in the Forest is for all women. Women come to us for a variety of reasons - to lose weight, increase fitness and vitality or for sport specific training. Remember the programme is indidually tailored to ensure goals are met in a mutually supportive environment. Goals will be set in your 1:1 initial assessment session with a trainer.

Will the instructors shout at me?
This is not a military boot camp. Our trainers will encourage you to remain motivated. They are extremely knowledgeable and have a wealth of experience in motivating the most reluctant of clients. Remember you will be spending at least 12 hours a day with your trainers and will develop a rapport and a relationship based on trust. Within this, you will begin to push against the boundaries of your perceived physical and mental limitations.
More simply… you will simply be encouraged to try hard!

What about ‘free time’ – will I have any?
The trainers will keep you very busy. You will have time between activities to shower, change, call home etc.

Will I be hungry?
No. The food is absolutely delicious. Your nutritional needs are met as all meals supplied by Nutrichef are carefully designed with high levels of protein and fibre and optimum levels of carbohydrate. Regular snacks of fruit, nuts, seeds and the occasional squares of chocolate will also keep up energy levels.

What do I need to bring?
With your booking form you will receive a comprehensive information pack. This will include a kit list. No specialist equipment is required but do bring lots of sports clothing.

I am travelling by train. How will I get to the camp?
We will collect you in our camp minibus. There is no charge for this service.

What time will camp start on the first day?
We aim to start by 1pm on the first day .If participants are travelling long distances we can recommend a local B & B with competitive rates. This ensures you get the most from the action packed programme. This should rarely be necessary as we have excellent rail and road links.

How many places on each camp?
Places are restricted to 12 participants only.
This ensures individual attention and fosters a sense of community and camaraderie.

Can men attendFitness in the Forest?
Yes – but only on mixed, or ‘men only’ camps.

I am coming on my own - Will I feel ‘lost’ or ‘isolated’..?
Fitness in the Forest is a great place to make new friends. The majority of participants are solo travellers. As all rooms are shared you will be sharing either a twin or quadruple room.
